Residence at 22 Causeway - Lawrence, New YorkInterior Designer: Douglas C. Wright Architects Interior Designer: Douglas C. Wright Architects The owner of this Tudor house, located in one of the five towns in Long Island, decided to have a bold move, “Old meets New”. The existing house got an extension of Richard Meier-ish glass house. The floor to ceiling windows made the resident enjoy the natural light and the view toward outside. Originally this house is filled with antiques, co-exist with contemporary arts and design items.
His eclectic collection of arts and furniture has been extended to the lighting fixtures as well. Yamagiwa’s System X is hovering the ceilng of Library, the original Edison Price chandelier been enlarged to 7feet diameter and floating over the living room., and the oval-shaped recessed plaster dome with custom designed flower pattern shing over the corridor. We collaborated with the architect to pay attention to the fine installation details. From the basement to the roof top, every room has something special, but blending in nicely beyond time. |
