Chanel 57th Street - New York, New YorkInterior Designer: Peter Marino Architect This luxury boutique is located on 57th Street in midtown Manhattan in the heart of New York’s major upscale retail district. To update the corporate image and attract younger patrons, the space needed to be cleaned, polished, and freshened.
Architect Peter Marino’s selection of materials is unique – from white oxen bones to gold threaded drapery to snowflake-emulationg embroidered mesh. The walls are covered in maroon french lacquer panels that are strikingly juxtaposed with the Venitian plaster. The light sources are carefully chosen to highlight both warm and cool tones. HID master color lamps highlight the white Venitian plaster and silver jewelry while Halogen lamps accent the gold jewelry and warm lacquer panels. Projections dominate the visual envionment on the third floor. Moving images, sounds, and lighting are all integrated and controlled from a single Crestron system. To operate the fashion runway for VIP customers, the theatrical lighting boards can also be integrated with the architectural lighting controls. |
