Park Hyatt Chicago - Chicago, IllinoisArchitect: Lucien Lagrange Architects Interior Designer: Culpepper McAuliffe and Meaders The Park Hyatt Chicago was designed to be a flagship hotel for the Park Hyatt chain in the US. To this end, their renowned international style of service and hospitality was enhanced by a contemporary architectural design. An original Gerhardt Richter painting invites travellers to rest in the lobby’s seating area in which architectural linear wallwashers float overhead. The library adjacent to the lobby lends a sense of old world comfort and residential sensibility to the guest experience.
From the guestrooms, views of Lake Michigan, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Water Tower locate guests firmly in America’s largest midwestern city. When the curtains are drawn, the lighting reveals the sumptuous texture of the materials and surfaces in the room. |
