Westin Hotel, Times Square, Ballroom Renovation - Time Square, NYC

The former Function Room in the Westin Times Square Hotel was designed and suitable primarily for business meetings. To increase revenue and expand usage, the hotel owner decided to renovate the room transforming it into a high-end ballroom capable of hosting weddings, private-parties, and fashion shows. In lieu of a typical tiered chandalier, we designed a geometric form of chandelier, based on the original design of the hotel. Through direct collaboration with the crystal chandelier manufacturer Schonbek, custom chandeliers and sconces added a distinctive glitz and luxury to the ballroom.

The coves that anchor the chandeliers were finished with real silver leaf, adding an extra richness to the space. The dimming system enables the dynamic use of the ballroom. For smaller events, a partition- triggered by infrared sensor splits the lighting into separately operable rooms. Although the renovated ballroom can accomodate any function, it now provides the setting for the most extravagant occasions.
