Tang Residence - Marlboro, NJInterior Designer: Design Pod The Tang residence reflects the owners’ desire to integrate multiple functional requirements into a single home. The decorous entry hall exhibits luxury and decadence as two staircases sweep gracefully up to the second floor. With stylized rounded edges the media room signals an escape from the formality of the entry and dining room. A tea room provides the setting for calm and relaxation. A raised floor allows for floor recessed upright that illuminates the Chinese latice shutters. Hidden light fixtures glaze the surface of the built-in waterfall that subtly sets the room’s tone and brings a natural ambience into the home.
Entertaining guests, playing music, and enjoying the coziness of home called for flexibility within the three- story house. Rooms in the basement for cards, mahjong, and billiards are illuminated by LED cove lighting throughout and create the casual atmosphere suited for recreational activities. While serving the home’s diverse functions, the lighting simultaneously creates a continuity that pulls the owners and their guests through the entire space. |
