2000 Avenue of the Stars - Los Angeles, CaliforniaArchitect: Gensler (Los Angeles) 2000 Avenue of the Stars, a new development in Los Angeles, consists of a 12-story class-A office building with a dramatic architectural design featuring a 300 foot long lobby with dual access from both the street and the plaza. A softly glowing two story luminous wall draws guests up to the elevator bays. The adjacent buildings include an upscale restaurant, a retail arcade, and a satellite location for a notable local museum of art. The plan also replaces the outdoor central plaza between 2000 Avenue of the Stars and Century Plaza Towers with four acres of open landscaped green space.
Glowing openings carved out of the marble lobby wall invite visitors to contemplate the possibility of luminous vertical surfaces as an introduction to the two story back lit glass wall. After dark, the interior lighting fills the glass clad lobby, spilling out onto the surrounding lawn as though the building itself were a warm lantern, an icon of Hollywood class. |
